As a group with a system landscape that had grown over time, HOCH faced the task of merging separate intranets running on outdated SharePoint 2013 technology into one shared, future-proof platform. Today, all regions work on a shared, modern intranet on SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SPSE) — accessible from anywhere and on mobile devices.

The Spitalverbunde des Kantons St. Gallen ran several separate intranets on an ageing SharePoint 2013 platform. The hierarchical structures, which had grown over time, were confusing, not mobile-ready and made collaboration across sites difficult.
✓ Solution
One shared intranet on SharePoint SPSE
SoftForge developed and implemented the overall concept based on SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SPSE): a flat, metadata-based information architecture, a presence spanning all hospital groups with personalised landing pages, and targeted SPFx extensions for news, navigation and home pages. The migration is carried out in stages with parallel operation — prepared for a later move towards SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
