DynamicForm
Configurable list forms for SharePoint
Replace the standard form of your SharePoint list with a freely configurable form: with sections, visibility rules, required fields, attachments and hint blocks. Configured visually, without JSON, right in SharePoint.
List forms that look the way your process needs them.
The standard SharePoint form shows every column one below the other. DynamicForm turns it into a clearly structured form: configured in the browser, without code and without JSON.
One long list of columns
The standard form lists every column one below the other, with no groups and no overview.
Everything is always visible
Fields that only matter in certain cases are still shown to everyone.
The form lives in the list only
Anyone who wants to submit something first has to find the list, instead of having the form right on the page.
Changes need code
A custom form quickly means development effort, and every change needs another order.
Guidance is missing
Explanatory texts and hints are hard to place in the standard form.
Several pages, several copies
Maintaining the same form on several pages means adjusting every copy separately.
Choose a list
Pick the list and content type. DynamicForm reads the columns straight from SharePoint.
- Existing lists
- Content types
- No data migration
Design the form
In the configurator you group fields into sections and define rules.
- Sections and columns
- Visibility rules
- Default values
Place it
Show the form right on the page, as a dialog, or from the list command bar.
- On the page
- As a dialog
- In the command bar
Fill it in
Users create, edit or view items. The data ends up in your list.
- New, edit, display
- Message after saving
- File attachments
Every feature in detail
From the configurator through layout and rules to use in the list: jump straight to the topic you are interested in using the navigation on the left.
No JSON
Build forms visually
A dialog with five tabs leads from the source to the presentation, right in the page’s property pane.
- Take over from list
- One click creates sections from the list’s columns, grouped by column group.
- Drag & drop
- Move, rename and remove fields and sections, or reorder them with the arrows.
- Live checks
- The configurator reports missing details, incomplete rules and fields that are not in the form before you apply.
Clear
A form with structure
Break long column lists into sections with one or two columns.
- Sections
- With a title and a fine line, one or two columns. Individual fields can span the full width.
- Hint blocks
- Explanatory text as an HTML block above a section, displayed sanitized.
- Read-only sections
- Show details that users should see but not change.
Dynamic
Fields appear when they are needed
Show or hide fields and whole sections depending on other fields.
- Visibility rules
- Show a field for certain values, or as soon as another field is filled in.
- Default values
- Pre-fill fields for new items. Existing items stay unchanged.
- Protection from mistakes
- The configurator warns about rules that would accidentally hide a section by itself.
Native to SharePoint
The common SharePoint columns, supported directly
DynamicForm works with your real list columns. Required fields and descriptions come from the column itself.
- Text and choice
- Single line, multi-line with rich text, choice and multiple choice.
- People and links
- People, lookup fields and managed metadata with the usual pickers.
- Numbers, dates and more
- Number, currency, date and time, yes/no, hyperlink and file attachments.
Flexible
On the page, in a dialog or in the list
Place the same form where your users work.
- On the page or in a dialog
- Embedded directly or behind a button, with the dialog in four widths.
- List command bar
- Commands for new, edit and display right in the list view.

From the first entry to the view
New, edit, display: one form for everything
The same layout for all three modes. You decide what happens after saving.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Which lists does DynamicForm support?
- DynamicForm works with custom SharePoint lists and their content types. The form uses the real columns of the list, so no data migration is needed. Document libraries are currently not part of the scope.
- Do I need programming skills?
- No. The form is assembled in the “Configure form” dialog, without code and without JSON. For advanced users there is a JSON import and export on the “Advanced” tab.
- Where are data and configuration stored?
- Entries end up in your SharePoint list. The configuration lives in the page’s web part or, if you use one configuration per list, as a file in the “config” library of your site. There is no external service.
- Which permissions are required?
- DynamicForm needs no API permissions and works with the rights of the signed-in person. Saving a configuration requires the “Manage Web” permission.
- Does DynamicForm also work on-premises?
- Yes, with SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (its own package). Older versions such as SharePoint 2019 are not supported.
- Can I calculate fields or build multi-step forms?
- No. Visibility rules and default values are possible. Calculated fields, formulas, tabs and multi-step wizards are not part of the scope.
- Which languages is DynamicForm available in?
- The configurator and the form are available in German and English. The language follows the SharePoint display language.
- How do I get DynamicForm?
- Get in touch with us. We will show you DynamicForm in a demo and discuss deployment in your environment.
